In the owner’s words:
“Birch Tree House has been a fantastic home for our growing family. We have the best of both worlds - with the ability to live a town and country lifestyle.  We were drawn to the peace and tranquillity of the countryside and all that a small village can offer, yet within 20 minutes we can be on a train to London, enjoying the culture and bustle of Oxford or the shopping at Bicester Village.  There are many lovely walks from the house, whether exploring the neighbouring airfield or Bernwood Forest, or a short stroll across the fields to the shops in Ickford or Waterperry.  The village pub which is now owned by a small group of villagers offers good, traditional pub food.We have significantly renovated our home over the last 8 years and it provides flexible, modern family living, where the living accommodation flows easily giving us all space to do our own thing.  We both work partly from home - the best place to work is from the dining table looking out at the garden for inspiration! We particularly love the ability to open up the bi-fold doors in the summer and enjoy indoor/outdoor living. We will really miss this aspect of our home.We have found the garden to be the perfect size - we have two children and, with busy lives, the garden is easy to maintain, not overlooked, enjoys the morning and late afternoon sunshine and provides a safe and secure place to play, entertain or relax.  The birch tree, from which our home takes its name, along with the other mature shrubs and trees, is a haven for wildlife and we enjoy looking out for the woodpecker, jay and a myriad of other garden birds. The courtyard garden is a real sun trap with an apple tree and workshop and we think that this space presents a real opportunity for the next owners of the house to create an even better courtyard space.  This has been a great family home, we have been very fortunate to have great neighbours and friends and we shall miss Birch Tree House!”
