House For Sale £750,000
Cobbs Well, Fowey PL23

Description
A surprisingly spacious 4 bedroom grade II listed character cottage situated close to the town centre. Renovated to the highest standards and presented in fabulous condition. The property also benefits from a charming and spacious rear garden. Would make a fantastic family home or ideal investment for holiday letting.

Nestled in a quiet corner of Fowey, Cobb's well is a number of Tudor cottages with a cobbled forecourt, in one corner of which, outside number 4 and 5, is a medieval granite trough and an historic water pump. Evidently this was one of the original town wells of early days. John Cobb the elder and his son are noted as living in Fowey in 1597.

Built between 1680 and 1700 and believed to be originally one cottage, the house was then split into two. The current owner has converted this wonderful property back to one dwelling, renovating the house to the highest standard with the utmost of taste. Every detail has been thought through to provide spacious and luxurious accommodation, enhanced by a wow factor bespoke kitchen and hand built joinery, cupboards and wardrobes all by George Robinson of Penzance. There are beautiful bathrooms and the latest in zoned energy saving heating systems. Presented in superb decorative order, and painted with heritage Zoffany colours, with many of the bespoke fittings and soft furnishings by Colefax and Fowler, Jim Thompson, Etro and Villacini (Thailand) If a home with history, character and chic interior design is your idea of heaven, then viewing of this fabulous cottage is essential. The property is offered fully furnished (except for personal items).

Fowey's beautiful natural harbour provides deep water access at all states of the tide and is one of the most popular sailing centres along the coast of Devon and Cornwall. Two local yacht clubs organise competitive sailing throughout the summer season. Fowey town centre provides a good range of small shops for most day-to-day needs. Fowey Harbour is a beautiful inlet that nestles in between two imposing headlands, extending inland for approximately six miles, with a good depth of water for the first mile or so.

During the summer the harbour enjoys a high level of boating activity which ranges from the regatta week to visiting cruiser yachts and dinghies. The town also supports a wide range of excellent restaurants, coffee shops and pubs. The immediate area is surrounded by many miles of delightful coast and countryside, much of which is in the ownership of the National Trust and there are several good golf courses within easy reach. There are good road links to the motorway system via the A30/A38 and a mainline railway station can be found at Par (London Paddington about four hours) four miles to the west.

A useful large utility room is tucked away next to the dining room, providing vital storage.
