Ensum Brown are delighted to offer for sale 'Beehive Cottage' a quite stunning period cottage located on a secluded and generous plot in the Hertfordshire village of Aston. This quintessential classic period cottage offers superbly maintained accommodation that retains a wealth of period features. Sold with the advantage of no upward chain this beautiful cottage must be viewed to be fully appreciated.

You will find Beehive Cottage through a private five bar gate, with a driveway that opens up to a parking area for multiple vehicles, easy turning area and leading to a detached triple garage with electric doors for easy access as you approach. As you pass through the gate you will immediately see that this cottage has been superbly maintained, with its part thatched roof only recently having a new ridge. This whole property has been meticulously maintained and cared for by the present owners over the last 30 years.

On entering the property into the entrance hall you will instantly see the period features that are found throughout, including wooden beams and magnificent open fireplaces. On the ground floor you have two main reception rooms and the drawing room has to be the standout feature of this home, it is simply stunning. With a vaulted ceiling this room feels extremely spacious and light, helped by the dual aspect windows which feature throughout, and the focal point has to be the incredible feature inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove and timber bressummer. Another fantastic feature is the minstrels' gallery that overlooks the drawing room: A delight from above and below.

The second reception room, the dining room, doubles up for the current owners as a large study. The wooden floor continues through from the drawing room and again in this room there is an inglenook fireplace with a gas-fired wood burning effect stove. The dining room is ideally located next to the kitchen breakfast room which has a more modern finish but very sympathetic at the same time. In here you will find a country style kitchen with space for all the modern appliances you could wish for and is nicely finished with Corian worksurfaces, tiled flooring and splashbacks and with inset ceiling spotlights. From the kitchen you have access to the landscaped rear gardens; we'll talk more about the outside space in a moment.

There are two further floors which give you excellent bedroom space. On the first floor you have the master bedroom which has its own en-suite shower room and dressing room, also the third bedroom and family bathroom. There are some extremely useful storage cupboards on this floor, something not often found in period homes. On the second floor you have bedrooms two and four, the second bedroom being particularly spacious.

Going outside you will see that the current owners are keen gardeners, the landscaped gardens have been well thought through and beautifully maintained with elements of interest all year around. Although you have houses and gardens around this property's boundaries, you will find the gardens quite private, especially in the spring and summer months with the mature trees surrounding it. There is a large lawned area, well stocked flower and shrub borders, summer house, garden room with a brick base, glass construction, light and mains power, a paved patio space for outside dining and last but not least a heated swimming pool in a secluded corner. To the front you have the triple garage with power and light connected and also two outbuildings, also with power and light: Ideal space for an office, workroom or storage.

To fully appreciate this rare and unique period home you simply must view. Call Ensum Brown today for more information and to arrange your private viewing time.
