Description
History

The early Georgian manor of Liston Hall was constructed in about 1730 and its tranquil hilltop position is approached over a private drive of about one–third of a mile from Liston Church. The house was unusual in design, in that the main central building had four identical sized wings attached via curved corridors to the four corners of the house. The main central part of the house was demolished in 1952 following its military use during World War II. All that remains now is The Gentlemen’s Wing and The Old Ballroom Wing. The Gentlemen’s Wing has retained the name Liston Hall, and is Grade II Listed; The Old Ballroom has, fortuitously, escaped Listing and enjoys both peace and privacy.
