Description

Historical Note
Snapdragons was once the village's doctors' surgery before and after the Second World War and the original patients' meeting room and doctor's office are evident at the right-hand side of the house with a separate external entrance.

The house, which was constructed in the 1930s, has been in the same family and is available for the first time on the open market. Now requiring modernisation, it is an extremely rare opportunity to acquire one of the village's most notable houses. Adding to its appeal is its plot, which extends to about 0.41 of an acre with a frontage of 150 ft.

The house extends to about 3,329 sq ft with six bedrooms over two floors, some with their original fireplaces. On the ground floor the hallway runs through the centre of the house and to the right is a spacious living room with a bay window overlooking the large front gardens. This room features an original tiled fireplace and beyond is a sitting room and home office which was once the surgery for the original owner. On the opposite side of the hall is a large separate dining room, again with a bay window overlooking the front gardens and original fireplace. Beyond there is a kitchen which overlooks the gardens. Adjacent is an inner hall with a boiler room and a cloakroom at the back of the house, overlooking the rear gardens, is a large utility room.

Outside
The house occupies a beautiful mature plot with a long drive which provides good parking and in turn leads to the detached garage with studio above. This building offers great potential and subject to planning would make for a detached annexe should the facility be required.

The gardens lie mainly to the front and side of the property, are predominantly lawned with mature hedgerows and include a former vegetable garden. At the rear is a further lawned garden with access to a detached garage.

Square Footage: 4125 sq ft

Acreage: 0.41 Acres
