Beyond the primary school age, most children attend schools in Castle Donington and Shepshed. Shops in the village include a supermarket, butcher, pharmacy, post office, delicatessan, and optician. Kegworth has several public houses, a doctors surgery and a village hall that hosts events and the local playgroup. vendor comment When I first laid eyes on the house I was sold by the pew in the kitchen from where I could drink wine while someone else did the cooking. These days I tend to sit by the fire while someone else is (still) cooking instead, or perch in the window box and read. There are ample spaces to hide around the house - a feature I have found particularly useful - and the walled and electronic-gated garden has made for a secure space for the children to play outside over the years. There are also a number of pubs nearby for retreat as necessary and all are dog and child friendly. Countryside walks are 10 minutes in any direction, but the area is busy enough to maintain a Co-op. Pleasingly, the house maintains a steady internal temperature year round, remaining cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The cellar maintains a perfect temperature for wine storage year round.
