There is also a direct rail service from Chester to London Euston (from 2 hours).

Description

Rose Farm House is approached via long drive leading to a delightful, private setting framed by mature hedging, shrubs and trees.

A part glazed front door framed by a painted porch opens into a reception hall with a French limestone tiled floor. The house has a series of impressive reception rooms including a drawing room with a fireplace and a large bay window overlooking the garden, a dining room with an ornamental fireplace and a pair of French doors opening into the garden and with a study or games room beyond, with independent access on to the drive.

A kitchen/dining room with a gas fired Aga sits at the heart of the house with a library/snug beyond. A utility room and WC complete the ground floor accommodation.

Stairs from the reception room lead to the first floor with a generous landing, 4 double bedrooms and two bathrooms (one en suite).

Adjoining the house is a carport and the main garden area lies to the rear of the house with a large lawn ideal for children's games.

Historical note

Whilst it may have been built earlier, local maps show Rose Farm House on the site in 1811. In 1842 it was sold by the Rev Richard Massey to the Grosvenor Estate who continued to rent it to the Walker family as tenant farmers. It was sold by the estate in 1977 on the expiry of the tenancy to members of the same family. It has been part of the fabric of Old Waverton for over 200 years and is an important building in this sought-after area.
