The village hosts the famous Marshfield Mummers every Boxing Day - an event attended by hundreds, coming from afar. Within the southern boarders of the Cotswolds and easy striking distance of the southern end of the Cotswold Way, the walking around Marshfield is excellent and picturesque villages like Castle Combe, the National Trust locations of Dyrham Park and Bowood House, the National Arboretum at Westonbirt and the and the superb cream teas at Lucknam Park and the Manor House Hotel in Castle Combe make for great days out. Marshfield offers very good access to Chippenham train station, 10 miles away, and 1 hour and 14 minutes to London.
