Accommodation

Ground floor
The hub of the home is the extensive living and entertaining space spanning the rear of the property. The large kitchen/diner includes a sit-up island, fitted appliances, bi-fold doors with garden views and a separate laundry/boot room. Alongside this, the spacious living room also features bi-fold doors creating a feeling of calm and space.

The family room is ideal as a playroom, home cinema or office. Meanwhile, tucked away in the corner of the garden there’s an en-suite annexe room perfect as an office, gym, playroom, garden pub or guest suite. This house really does have incredibly flexible accommodation to meet today’s needs – space, privacy, home working and entertainment.

The house has 4 double bedrooms – 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs, with 2 en-suites and a family bathroom.

First floor
The main bedroom is an 800 sq ft suite affording the privacy and luxury we dream of. The large bedroom leads to a dressing room and on to a huge, luxurious en-suite with a free-standing bath, separate shower and twin sinks.

Across the hallway is bedroom 4 with a walk-in storage area.

Downstairs there are two further double bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, the other served by an immaculate family bathroom.

The exceptionally large hallway connects the ground floor living space with the first floor stairs and ground floor bedrooms.

Gardens
The back garden feels very much part of the house, given the access via bi-fold doors from the kitchen and living room. Decking spans the back of the house, including a pizza oven for that home restaurant feel, perfect for entertaining. Beyond the lawn there’s a paved area alongside the garden annexe, ideal for a fire pit.

The front of the house is gravelled with space for 8 cars, and planning permission for a pitched double garage. Being at the top and end of a no-through road, there is no passing traffic and the house is not overlooked.

Seller Insight
We moved to Newbury for work and have really fallen in love with our lifestyle here. We appreciate the finer things in life and wanted a house with space and light. Hillcrest House appealed to us immediately, it’s beautiful and bright and provided a neutral canvas for us to add our own style to.

We spend most of our time in the kitchen where there’s plenty of natural light from the garden and the space is great for cooking and entertaining. We’ve had 20 teenagers in this room with a dj and the doors open onto the garden.

In the evening we retire to the living room for board games or a glass of champagne, while the kids use the family room which is perfect for gaming and entertaining their friends.

Locally, we love having the David Lloyd leisure centre so close by, it’s great for the tennis and spa facilities and we enjoy the social aspect too. Greenham Common is just up the road and great for walking the dogs, as is Victoria Park in the town centre.

Socially, our favourite spots are The Vineyard at Stockcross, The Woodspeen and Mio Fiore Italian restaurant in Newbury town centre. For shopping, Newbury has everything I need, especially Camp Hopson department store.

We sometimes work in London and can reach Paddington in 41 minutes, while the Vodafone Campus and the M4 are about 15 minutes away.

Now our son has left home we’re downsizing, although in the meantime i’m quite enjoying the peace and space!
