No chain - This detached Oast house is in need of updating but does benefit from some double glazing, oil central heating and private drainage. Three bedrooms with views across countryside, bathroom, circular sitting room, dining room and kitchen/breakfast room with Aga (cooking only). The garden is a good size, level and private, well screened with high beech hedges. A driveway providing parking for three cars also gives access to a detached double garage. Much of the updating is cosmetic and repair (although no structural survey has been undertaken).
Located on an island joining two country lanes, affording the property privacy in its garden as there are no adjacent properties which is unusual for an oast house. The area is mainly farmland and the villages of Chiddingly and Horam are within a short distance. The popular Six Bells inn at Chiddingly and The Gun at Horam are also close by. Horam village offers a good range of local shops, including a Co-Op, tennis club, riding school and Lakeside Country Park and golf course. Heathfield is about a 8/10 minute drive with a larger range of shops and supermarkets. Main line stations at Polegate, Uckfield and Jarvis Brook are about a 15/20 minute drive.
