Highly recommended restaurants/takeaways, cafes, pubs and bars are varied and multiple. We particularly like The Camberwell Arms, The Hermits Cave, The Crooked Well, Silk Road, The Pigeon Hole cafe, Lumberjack and Theo’s.

When it’s warm, Rye Lane’s multiple rooftop bars are the on-trendiest destination for cocktails and people-watching. Rye Lane is also where you’ll find Peckham Plex Cinema (fiver-films-forever) plus recently-refurbished Market Building, and Peckham Levels. Peckham’s restaurants are excellent - some of our favourites are Levan, Artusi, The Begging Bowl, Ganapati, and Peckham Bazaar and Babette which are more Nunhead-way.

Butterfly Tennis Club (currently being resurfaced) and Zen Yoga studio are also nearby, on Camberwell Grove, as well as the leisure centre with pool on Artichoke Place (the annual memberships there are good value).

You are close to two Fare Zone 2 stations as previously mentioned, and also to a host of day and night bus routes at the foot of the street, from Camberwell Church Street. Oval is a short bus ride to connect with the tube there. For more options, Peckham, Herne Hill, Dulwich, Brixton and New Cross are all easily reached.
