History
Numbers 3 and 4 Well Place were originally built as farm workers cottages for Well Place Manor House when owned by Lady Irving around 1910.

It retains appealing traditional brick and tile hung elevations under a pitched clay tile roof with tiled dormer windows at the front. It was subsequently extended on the ground floor at the rear in the 1950s and again in the 1970s when a two storey wing was added upon the end in matching architectural style.

Great care has been taken to preserve original architectural features such as the seasoned joinery and leaded pane windows, and cast iron fireplace.

Ipsden Village History
Relatively unchanged and retaining its tranquil atmosphere, the village has a 13th century church, a family run Post Office/general stores, a village hall, a thriving nursery school in the old village school and a well supported cricket ground and team. Close by at Hailey is a 17th century brick and flint inn, The King William IV, in a spectacular position and well know for its food. There are several interesting period properties, notably the Old Vicarage, which dates from around 1700, and Ipsden House dating from the 17th century with 18th century barn, reputed to be the longest in England (385 feet).
