Description

Rede Place is a luxurious, 11,331 sq ft country mansion set back in its own gardens and parkland grounds of about 14.2 acres. It is located on the northern fringe of Dormans Park with a footpath running directly from the property to Dormans station.

The property is approached through electric security gates with CCTV cameras. The shingle driveway meanders through manicured gardens to a substantial parking area at the front of the house where Portland stone steps lead up to the front porch. A separate fork of the drive leads to the Victorian garage building and the Pavilion.

The bespoke design house was built in 2003, replacing a pre-existing Victorian residence.

There is a comprehensive lighting system throughout allowing zoned and dimmer control with interesting features including coffered ceilings with up-lighting. Certain rooms are wired for an integrated sound system.

The lower ground floor provides a superb recreation complex including a cinema room, games/billiards room and dance studio with sprung floor. The integral garage on this floor has numerous power points offering potential for an office set up if required. The room has also provided an excellent teenage party venue.

The first floor comprises four bedroom suites including an impressive principal bedroom complex. Each bedroom has a private balcony overlooking the gardens and grounds. The second floor is currently set up as a bedroom suite with sitting room / study which could quite easily be turned into two.

In addition to the house there is a 1,436 sq ft detached self-contained annexe, referred to by our clients as “The Pavilion”, located to one side of the house, which is ideal for entertaining or for staff / guest accommodation. The immediate gardens offer a combination of formal lawns and plantings, wooded sunken garden with stream fed interconnecting ponds, entertaining terraces and recreational facilities including a heated swimming pool, tennis court and hot tub. There is also an orchard and a pretty Victorian summerhouse. Beyond the gardens are parkland grounds, which could easily be divided up into further paddocks if required, which would then be in addition to the paddock at the front of the property.

Agent’s note:
The public footpath is predominantly used by Dormans Park residents. The path runs from Swissland Hill, just to the left of the entrance gates to Rede Place and cuts across the property to the east leading to the station. The path runs between the fenced paddock to the north of the property and a laurel hedge that screens the path from the house.
