listing and history
Broad Oak House is a Grade II Listed detached property, primarily in stone with the north wall being half-timbered. Its origin dates back to the 17th Century, with the main part of the building dating between 1650 and 1690, with further additions in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is believed to have been a coaching inn and was the local pub until the late 1980s. There is a West Country Ales ceramic plaque still in situ, and the original oak tree after which the hamlet is named still stands in the front garden.
