Living in Canal Cottage, alongside the beautiful tree lined Basingstoke Canal, has been an amazing experience. The very first time we entered the front door we both fell in love with the feeling and character of the property. We knew it would make a fantastic home for us and our children, and it has done just that. Gazing out of the master bedroom is beautiful with the greenery and trees opposite, particularly early in the morning when the sun and the mist from the Canal are rising. Hearing the birdsong and sounds of nature is really quite something. There are so many aspects to the house and very private garden: The tête-à-tête patio off the kitchen is the ideal spot for a morning cuppa; lunchtime can be enjoyed by the raised pond and then relax on the party patio and sip wine on a summer’s evening. This in addition to your own private access to the canal towpath (every nature lover’s utopia) offering a world of leisure activities of kayaking/paddleboarding, cycling, walking/running or fishing right on your doorstep. Being able to stroll into town, if you choose to, and leave the car behind is wonderful.
