Lutterworth Lutterworth is a market town in the county of Leicestershire with close links to the M1 Junction 20, M6, A14 & A5. Nearby town Rugby is on the main train line to London with journey times to Euston Station of around 45 minutes. The town was granted its Market Status in 1214 by King John and it continues to hold a market to this day. Lutterworth other claim to fame is that Frank Whittle, the inventor of the jet engine, who developed some of the world first jet engines at the British Thomson-Houston works in Lutterworth and nearby Rugby during the late 1930s and 1940s. A statue plane stands in the middle of a roundabout just south of the town as a memorial. Lutterworth is also in close proximity to Magna Park Logistics and Distribution centre which is a main source of employment in the Lutterworth area. This is built on the old site of the Bitteswell aerodrome.
