House For Sale £1,000,000
Bampton, Oxfordshire OX18

Description
Wheelgate House is a deceptively large family house in the centre of the village with off-street parking, garaging, a large garden and a separate cottage.

Built of Cotswold stone under a tiled roof, the house is Grade II listed and offers extremely versatile accommodation. The main reception rooms are well proportioned with plenty of period features like the inglenook fireplaces and the bay window overlooking the garden from the kitchen. The property has been used as a B&B in the past; so unlike many period properties, the five bedrooms are well serviced by the same number of bath/shower rooms.

To the rear of the house is a delightful walled garden and sun terrace. Beyond, is the garage and further garden mostly laid to lawn and framed by a traditional stone wall.

The Cottage is ancillary to the main house but very private in its own area of the garden. Finished in the more modern open plan style, the cottage is ideal for guests, parents or working from home.

There is a vehicular right of way from the High Street to the off-street parking and garage to the rear of the property.

Services: There is mains gas, water, electricity and drainage plus fibre-optic broadband.

Local authority: West Oxfordshire District Council Within Bampton is a grocer, butcher, Post Office, art gallery and a fine parish church, recently famed for its part in the Downton Abbey television series.
