Transport links

Walsall Road, also known as the A34, runs through the centre of Great Wyrley and is a useful road for driving towards Cannock & Stafford to the North and Walsall & Birmingham to the South. Alternatively, travelling north will bring you to junctions with the A5, M6, M6 Toll and subsequently the M54, meaning that commuting and travelling for leisure could not be more convenient.

The nearest train station, Landywood, is a short walk away and serves Great Wyrley and Cheslyn Hay. The station offers services to Birmingham New Street, Walsall, Cannock, Bloxwich & Rugeley via the Chase Line.

Buses services are available from Walsall. These services provide access to Walsall, Cannock, Wolverhampton & Birmingham.

Schools & amenities

Great Wyrley is very well supported by local businesses and convenience stores. These include a veterinary practice, hair salon and takeaway outlets. There are a few welcoming public houses dotted around the village and a handy petrol station located further along Walsall Road.

A drive north via the A34 to the outskirts of Cannock will bring you to the Orbital Retail Park with many familiar named shops including a Sainsburys supermarket. Being rural there are plenty of local walking opportunities but those wanting something a bit more special can drive 15-20 minutes north to reach Cannock Chase, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

According to the Staffordshire Schools website, the catchment schools for this home are within brilliant walking range. They are Great Wyrley Academy (0.8 miles) and Landywood Primary School (0.5 miles).
