What the Seller Says

What do we think is great about our home?

It has a great layout.

This house has been a wonderful family home for us, and we are sad to part with it after 20 years. We particularly love the downstairs space, with three large reception rooms. One of the only changes we made to the house was to knock through the wall of what was the ‘breakfast room’ to create one large kitchen diner. With windows on both sides, the room quickly became the bright and cheery heart of our home and our three children spent a great deal of their childhood there, playing, reading or drawing, with easy access to the garden. The large double reception room at the front of the house with the elegant original doors which separate the two rooms, is a very flexible space. The back room is spacious enough for a large dining table and, with direct access to the garden through the French doors, it is a lovely space for entertaining. The room has also doubled up as a playroom, den, guest room and bedroom at different times.

It has a wonderful garden.

The garden has been a real oasis for us. We love the patio at the back which was always a lovely place to sit and relax at the end of the day. Our children spent many happy hours in the garden making mud-pies, playing in the paddling pool, and growing vegetables in our small vegetable plot. The side access to the garden has been handy for wheeling bikes and trikes round to the back of the house and for allowing access for deliveries or workmen.

It has been cared for.

We have really looked after the house during our time as owners. For the last few years, we have moved abroad for work and have had tenants living in our home. It has been important to us that our tenants enjoy the house as much as we have done. We have maintained the exterior of the property, replaced the double glazing, installed a ventilation system in the loft, replaced the boiler in 2018 (free parts and labour guarantee until 2026) and have replaced almost all the kitchen white goods since 2016.

It is in the heart of a great community.

We love the location of the house because it is situated in the midst of a great community. There are great schools nearby and we will always remember very fondly the friendships we made with local families on the street when our children attended Myatt Garden Primary School. There are a wonderful range of shops, bars and cafes in the area and plenty of green spaces: Hilly Fields, Telegraph Hill and Luxmore Gardens are all within easy walking distance. If you need to travel further afield, the train station, with direct trains into central London is only a 10-minute walk away and there are many bus routes minutes away on Shardeloes Road and Lewisham Way.

We are sad to let this lovely house go, with all the memories that is holds for us, but feel that it is ready for its next family.
