We fell for this house as soon as we saw it. It’s full of character, with lovely, quirky period features. We love how light it is, looking out the back windows onto a large stretch of green, with gardens backing onto gardens. In the spring, tree blossoms fill the view from the master bedroom. It’s a wonderful, welcoming family home.

Travers Road is a quiet street—you mainly hear birdsong in the morning—but you can walk to Finsbury Park station in less than 10 minutes. Our local favourites are Girasole and Hana Sushi round the corner on Seven Sisters Road, and we also enjoy the shops and cafes on Holloway and Blackstock Roads. The area is developing quickly, but the street itself is full of people who have lived here for decades, and there’s a genuine sense of community.

Anyone with children will appreciate being a stone’s throw from the Sobell Leisure Centre, with its soft play, ice rink and trampoline park. And there’s a newly redeveloped playground three minutes’ walk from the house in Kinloch Gardens. Finsbury Park has a great playground, too, and we regularly visit Highbury Fields, Clissold Park, Woodberry Wetlands and Gillespie Park Nature Reserve.
