House For Sale £265,000
Waterloo Road, Bewdley DY12

Description
General information and approach Up until the early 1960s, this area of Bewdley now known as Hales Park was a Cherry Orchard. To be fair, most of the immediate surrounding area were former orchards, now only their names remain as a link to the past. Elton, Morello, Early River, Whiteheart, Ironside, Governor Wood and Waterloo itself.

The property was built around the same time as the St Anne's School in Wyre Hill. (It first opened in 1967)
With the new housing estate the school was a necessity. The school caters for children from 4 until 11yrs. For the older ones, The Bewdley School and Sixth Form Centre can be found on Stourport Road in Bewdley, on the other side of the river.

Behind the school is a playing field belonging to the school, which is open to the locals to use out of school hours. This is a great place for the children to play football, cricket, learn to ride their bikes etc. Next door to the school is a sand park with swings and climbing frame, some grass and benches. There is also a netball or basketball court.

Adjacent to the field is some lovely countryside, known as The Golden Valley. Great for walkers and those who enjoy some lovely scenery and wildlife.

From here one can walk into town, should you so wish, browse what's on offer at Hopleys Farm Shop with cafe attached and some good take away food regularly on offer. This is located on the Cleobury Road, selling delightful local produce, vegetables, plants, flowers, fruit and meats etc. Bus stop nearby into Kidderminster and beyond.

Several public houses or local restaurants within the area which serve food. There are also tennis, cricket, bowls and football clubs, the golf club and course again all within easy reach.

Take a walk around the wonderful countryside which wraps around the area; explore the Wyre Forest brimming with flora and fauna.

Not far away one can visit the wonderful old steam trains of the Severn Valley Railway. The 'chug, chug, chugging' and the 'toot, toot, toot' of the whistle as the train slowly leaves Bewdley station travelling to neighbouring Bridgnorth via Arley can be heard if the wind is in the right direction. Brilliant nostalgic sounds. A worthwhile day out, enjoyed by all ages!

Discover the River Severn; Dowles Brook which meanders through the forest and winds up at the river.
Spend a day at the West Midlands Safari Park. There is just so much to offer young and old alike which is why so many folks come to Bewdley and never want to leave.
