House For Sale £750,000
The Armoury, Shropshire Street, Market Drayton TF9

Description
This hidden gem dates back to the 1800s and is situated in the heart of Market Drayton, with all the amenities and the attractions this bustling market town has to offer right on the doorstep!

The property is accessed from both the front and rear via grand entrance doors, positioned centrally within the fantastic double fronted Georgian façade, and connected via the reception hall which runs through the centre of the property and features a beautiful stained glass window dividing the front and rear hallways. A gorgeous oak staircase rises to the first floor, with a further door and stone stairway leading down to the lower ground floor level. The accommodation is arranged over four floors and is a credit to the current owners who have managed to retain the character and feel of the property whilst complementing it by adding bold statement colours and a contemporary twist, making it ideal for modern family living.

The ground floor is mainly divided into four equally proportioned rooms, comprising a formal dining room and library to the front, both with decorative fireplaces and sash windows. The elegant sitting room incorporates a period fireplace and a fantastic large floor to ceiling sash window, allowing access to the rear patio and garden beyond. The spacious kitchen/breakfast room also enjoys views to the rear and is well equipped with a range of wall, base and drawer units. The dining area features a log burning stove and a narrow staircase, assumed to be part of the original build, sits to one corner, providing access to the first and second floor levels. Beyond the kitchen is a large utility room and ground floor WC, with access door leading out to the rear patio and garden.

The first floor level is again divided into four rooms; three double bedrooms, all with sash style windows and period fireplaces, and a beautifully appointed family bathroom which incorporates a freestanding roll top bath, shower, bidet and wash basin, with panelling to walls and decorative tiled floor. The bedrooms are accessed from a central landing, with exposed oak flooring and windows to both front and rear aspects. A further oak staircase rises to the second floor and to three further spacious double bedrooms, all with decorative fireplaces and exposed beams. An additional sitting room and modern bath/shower room complete this level.

To the lower floor is a large dry basement comprising three full head height rooms with windows, providing plenty of natural light, making it ideal for storage or conversion into office space, a children’s playroom, hobbies or cinema room.

The driveway is accessed from the rear via Frogmore Road, with electric gates which open to a large gravelled parking area, detached double garage with electric charging point and garden. The attractive landscaped garden is a particular feature of the property, being larger than average, level and laid predominantly to lawn, with mature trees and shrubs to borders, offering a good deal of privacy and seclusion. A large paved patio and sheltered seating area make the outside space ideal for al fresco entertaining and family relaxation! Completing the rear is the old coach house which still features the original feeding stalls within! The building measures 5.3m x 4.6m and incorporates an additional floor above, making it a fantastic space for conversion, subject to the usual planning and building regulations.

This stunning and much loved period family home awaits its next occupants, ready to create new memories. Call us today to arrange your viewing – you won’t be disappointed!
