We have lived at 5 Albert Road for 11 years and have found the location to be excellent for our needs. The house is only 5 minutes away from Norwood Junction station but is not in the central part of South Norwood so it's a little less busy. We can get to London Bridge in 12 minutes on regular fast overland trains that also serve north London and through to Bedford. We can also easily get to East London on the Overground line through to Highbury and Islington, direct to Victoria or to East Croydon for connecting trains elsewhere in only 4 minutes. By car we have easy access to the Kent countryside out through Shirley, we are close to the M25 and only just over an hour from the South Coast. Crystal Palace is nearby where there are plenty of excellent restaurants and we are also close to central Croydon and Purley Way if we need to go shopping. We regularly use South Norwood Country Park and South Norwood Lake and Grounds for walking and bike rides with the kids and we are very happy with the primary schools and range of local childcare. There are loads of excellent activities for kids available in the surrounding areas (Croydon School of Gymnastics, Crystal Palace Sports Centre, The Brit School etc). Some lovely coffee shops, pubs and restaurants have opened up in South Norwood itself in recent years and the monthly street market was growing nicely, before Covid hit. There is a good community feel in South Norwood with the communal play area in Love Lane and well used scout hut
