Daisybank house - Two storey traditional villa with basement. Roughly squared, sandstone to sides and rear, painted ashlar dressings. The property has been adversely affected by exposure to the effects of weather, dampness and fire. Both the external and internal structural elements of the building are in a state of serious dilapidation and require full refurbishment. Not suitable for habitation. Property pictured in details may 2021. Approx. 1 acre of development land (with lapsed planning permission) within the boundary (marked red) of the former Daisybank House in central Ayrshire. Land falls within settlement boundary. Conservation Area planning: Both Listed Building Consent and Detailed Planning were approved were approved 9th March 2009. Now lapsed. Planning Number: 08/00120/ful. Pleasant open outlooks over a green field to the rear. An up to date application (planning number: 19/00256/app) was lodged on the 20th of March 2019 to renew previous approval. Boundary walls and ancillary buildings: Coped in random rubble boundary walls. Corniced gate piers to James Street (walled up to form smaller pedestrian entrance with timber gate). Ruinous remains of former coach house and stables adjoining boundary wall. Daisybank is believed to have been designed by John Patterson for John Stobo, a retired Captain of the Scots Greys. The house is stylistically similar to the nearby Montgomerie House by John Paterson, which was demolished in the 1970s. Montgomerie house was built for the 12th Earl of Eglinton whose son Archibald was a Colonel in the Scots Greys, and therefore presumably acquainted with Stobo.

Tarbolton itself is ideally located for commuting to both Ayr and Kilmarnock which are both 7 miles away. The village is a well-known tourist destination with the popular Bachelors' Club Museum, home to Scotland's famous poet, Robert Burns, which draws many tourists to the area. Tarbolton is located 7 miles east of Ayr and 7 miles to the south west of Kilmarnock and 5 miles west of Mauchline. The recently upgraded M77 Motorway is under 4 miles from the property offering access to Glasgow city centre in under 45 minutes.
