Parking is on street, directly in front of the cottage. There are no parking restrictions. Additional free parking is at the quarry car park.

The Area -

Delabole is aprox 2 miles from the coast and the beautiful beaches of Trebarwith Strand and Tregardock. Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac are also nearby. The exceptional beauty and drama of this area is a draw for film and TV crews, notably Doc Martin and Poldark. Surfers will enjoy the Atlantic coast whilst young families may prefer one of the sandy beaches. Bodmin moor is also accessible. Delabole is famous for quality slate and the quarry is both a local business and a tourist attraction. The area surrounding the quarry is open to all and has an abundance of wildlife. It is the gateway to countryside walking and is a short stroll from the cottage.

Amenities - Delabole has 2 popular pubs - Bettle and Chisel (named after slate working tools) and Poldark Inn, a social club, a few shops - general grocery, hairdresser, florist, garage. Farm shops and artisinal businesses are nearby.

Education - pre schools and Delabole cp Primary School are in village. Sir James Smith School at Camelford for secondary.

Transport - the area is served by a rural bus service. Nearest train station - Bodmin Parkway. Nearest airport - Newquay.
