The first floor comprises four bedrooms all of which are doubles. The top floor has a room with restricted head height which could be used as a study or a further bedroom.
The pretty sunny garden which can be accessed via the rear from large wooden double gates is mainly laid to lawn with a paved terrace area. There is a well with glass cover, a good size garage with side access, four storage buildings one is used as a utility room with washing machine and dryer and another has been used in the past by the present owner as a summer house.

History
The property itself dates back to the 18th century and still features a lot of the original beams. Most of the timbers are original. The large beam in the dining room was taken from the bluebell barge that was moored at St Osyths boatyard. The barge ended its career as floating storage in the boatyard before sinking in the docks sometime before the 1950s. The property was originally 1 and 2 little Cranfield and Cranfield cottage. It was later renumbered 19-21 Cranfield Cottages. Although now rated as one property, it had previously been two properties and could be easily converted back. Spring road is said to have been named as such due to the number of wells in the road and the glass topped well in the garden is an example of this. The cottages boast a beautiful tudor roof with diamond shaped patterns and it is believed that the property was once a blacksmith's.
This has been the current owner's very happy family home for the past 44 years, full of character and steeped in history.

Location
The property occupies an enviable position within the historic coastal village of St Osyth which is an English
village and civil parish in the Tendring District of north-east Essex. The village is located about 12 miles (19.3 km) south-east of
Colchester, just off of the B1027 and 10 minutes from Clacton-on-Sea with its direct high speed rail line to London.

The Curve Water Sports Park based nearby offers wake boarding, stand up paddle boarding,
kayaking, swimming, ringo rides and an inflatable obstacle course and there is a choice of nearby golf courses.

Additionally, the village offers interesting country walks and a varied range of shopping and eating facilities for day to
day needs. The property is only 5 minutes drive to the nearest of two local beaches.

Nearby is St Osyth's Abbey (originally and still commonly known as The Priory) which was a house of Augustinian
canons and reputed to be one of the largest monasteries in Essex. The gatehouse, dating from the late 15th century, is the most significant remnant of the original monastic structures still standing. The property itself, which dates back to the 1490's, was featured on the Time Team program on St Osyth which aired on Channel 4.
