When we first moved into the house in September 1979, we had just a shell to work with as it hadn't changed since it was built in 1940. I remember we didn't have any gas for cooking or heating and had to put in everything ourselves before the winter came.
What we did have was a very solid house. It was well-made and we knew we had good foundations to begin with. It soon became our beloved family home and now my children have grown and have moved to la and London, it is time for us to move on.

I love the layout of the house; the lounge is large enough for social gatherings and the kitchen is open to the adjacent dining room and is the hub of the home.

The bedroom is my favourite room, having a balcony which overlooks the garden. We have also installed a spacious dressing room and a new bathroom here. It is a quiet place to relax as the garden is tranquil and great for the children to play in.

I also love the TV room and it was good to come here and unwind.

The road is filled with inspiring and wonderful people from all walks of life and is considered to be one of the best roads to live in Loughton.
