Description

Storridge farmhouse is a prominent, attractive stone farmhouse with characterful accommodation arranged over two floors. The property was built in the 17th century and is listed Grade II as being of architectural interest. The house has immense appeal, with period features including original stone mullion windows, exposed ceiling timbers, a fine inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove and other fireplaces around the house. In the house there are some charming rooms including an elegant drawing room with a stone fireplace, a sitting room with flagstone floor and a large kitchen and breakfast room with aga. On the eastern flank of the house is a pretty attached barn with potential for conversion to ancillary accommodation having previously had consent for such use but now lapsed. The house is unspoilt by inappropriate modernisation and retains its integrity.

Outside
The gardens at Storridge Farmhouse surround the house. To the front a lawn is enclosed by a hedge from where there is access to the front door. To the east of the house is a yard with ample parking and access to one end of a fine stone barn providing covered parking. The other end of the barn is used for storage, but would, subject to consent, potentially provide ancillary accommodation. To the north is the old farmyard, now a walled and cobbled garden, with a single storey range of outbuildings and a pretty stone wall with gateway opening on to the paddock, which falls gently away from the garden and overlooks the glorious valley below. On the western boundary is a large kitchen garden.

Square Footage: 3355 sq ft
