Seller Insight

We bought Caversham Rise as a home for our family to grow into. Our key criteria were great schools, social spots and easy commuting, all within walking distance. This location ticked the all the boxes, and it’s worked perfectly for us over the years.

We now have four children, three dogs and four guinea pigs, with plenty of space for us all! The schools and nurseries are wonderful, our children are really happy here. They have a lot of friends nearby, as are we with quite a few other parents, along with people we’ve met at the David Lloyd health club.

Socially we spend most of our time in Caversham. The choice and quality has always been great, and has only improved over the years. Sonning is another favourite, we got married at Sonning Church and spent the night of our wedding at the French Horn. We go back every year for our anniversary, it’s just beautiful there. As a family we’re very active and often go for walks with a pub lunch around the Chiltern Hills, just up the road. Caversham Lakes recently opened and it’s a huge hit with all of us, especially on hot days.

We love to entertain and have hosted up to 50 people in the house. The living room is wonderful for Christmas and winter evenings, there’s enough space for us and extended family, and it’s really homely with the fire on.

With four children we use the space really well, the children all have their own rooms, and spend a lot of time in the family room and garden. I love the landing – it has enough space for us all to move around and organise ourselves, and it has the wow factor.

We work across the Thames Valley and London, Reading train station is 25 minute walk away so commuting is quick and easy. We often work from home too, so we have dedicated office space in the house.

With several new projects underway we need more outside space, so we’re moving west. If we could pick the house up and move it we would!
