Description
Full description Mid-terrace Victorian house on an attractive road next to Ruskin Park and King's College Hospital. Recently extended and refurbished to create a beautiful large kitchen / diner filled with natural light from two large skylights as well as a bank of glass sliding doors leading onto the pretty garden. A stylish and comfortable home.

Four bedrooms (one en-suite), two bathrooms, two reception rooms, laundry / utility / family storage room, brand new German Leicht kitchen with Caesarstone worktops, Siemens appliances and Quooker tap. Beautiful modern finish throughout with extensive underfloor heating.

Fun, sociable and sought-after place to live, with the bars, restaurants and bistros of Camberwell a short walk away and Brixton Village equally close. Herne Hill is also nearby with its renowned Sunday Market, as well as Brockwell Park and Lido.

Excellent transport links to King's Cross from Loughborough Junction station, to Victoria and London Bridge from Denmark Hill station, and Victoria line services at Brixton Underground station. Good local schools. The house looks towards the railway at the rear of the garden, and benefits from spectacular, unobscured views towards central London.

What the owners say:

We've lived here for 6 years now and absolutely love our home and our local area. We've put a lot of care and attention into renovating our house over the years, most recently the big wraparound extension to create a giant 380sqft kitchen / diner - it's the heart of the home and the huge peninsular is perfect for socialising around.

Our house benefits from light throughout the day. In the morning, sunlight streams into the living room and master bedroom - it's delightful to wake up to. In the afternoon, the sun hits the back garden and fills the kitchen / diner with direct sunlight, late into the evening. Our garden is really secluded and perfect for summer BBQs, with the back of the house overlooking the railway rather than houses. We've really enjoyed living next to the railway, with the additional privacy and lush greenery at the end of our garden - the trains have never bothered us, and we'd far rather live next to a train line than a busy road.

Throughout the house, the rooms are generously proportioned and we've enjoyed having all this space, especially after being stuck working at home over the past year due to the pandemic. The loft conversion at the top of the house has been fantastic for visiting guests, and commands incredible views into London. On New Years Eve, we get uninterrupted views of the fireworks display on the Thames. The front living room is decorated in a dramatic dark teal, which has resulted in a very beautiful, restful and cosy space. We also decided to build in a custom-designed boot room / utility when we renovated and i'm so glad we did - it provides ample storage and it's so nice to have the coats, shoes and laundry (even bikes) all neatly tucked away.

I would argue that we live on one of the friendliest streets in London. It's quiet and peaceful, with no through traffic. We know all our neighbours and really enjoy the now-legendary annual street party, complete with a bouncy castle and dj set up. Plus we love living next to Ruskin Park, which is a beautiful, well proportioned and popular green space, with a true community feel - we are there every day. Our children go to a fantastic local primary school - they've really thrived there.

The area has incredibly good transport links with several stations in very close proximity - it's fantastic that we can whizz up to the Southbank in less than 10 minutes on a Thameslink train from Loughborough Junction, plus trains to Victoria station are very handy too, not to mention direct access to the London Overground network from Denmark Hill station.

Finally, we have so many fantastic independent pubs, restaurants and shops nearby - a personal favourite of ours is the Camberwell Arms, where the food and service is top notch. Plus we are spoilt for choice with Peckham, Brixton and Herne Hill so close by.

We've made some great friends over the years in our lovely little neighbourhood and will be very sad to leave. The only reason we are selling is because we are moving to New Zealand - otherwise we'd be here for many years to come.
