Description

The Clockhouse is a striking L shaped gentleman's residence dating back to 1870 and was the former Coach House to Betley Court. At the junction of the L there is a wonderful square clock tower with spired belfry, incorporating a carriage wing below.

The Clockhouse is a prominent property within the village whilst it still offers a great deal of privacy, some wonderful character features, beautiful grounds and wonderful spacious flexible family accommodation with five ground floor reception rooms, five bedrooms up on the first floor, three of which are en suite, a kitchen/breakfast room, a study, and a utility room.

The reception hall situated below the clock tower has arched ceiling to floor windows to both the front and rear giving plenty of natural light with doors leading to the front courtyard and rear gardens. The accommodation splits to both sides. To the east there is a spacious sitting room with stairs rising up to the first floor to a galleried landing which overlooks the sitting room. Beyond there are a further two reception rooms, a family room and a further snug with an Adam Style fireplace as the focal point of the room. The long spacious kitchen/breakfast room is to the rear of the property with ample space for a large dining table as well as a range of base and wall units lining the wall with wooden work tops. There is a door leading to the utility room which has internal access into the garage. There is also a cloak room with guest WC.

To the south of the reception hall are two further reception rooms which include a further drawing room, a dining room and a study. A further set of stairs rise from a dining room to the first floor with another gallery landing looking back. On this side of the house there are two bedrooms both with en suite facilities. There is also access to the clock tower.

On first floor to the east side of the property there is a spectacular master bedroom suite with spacious dressing room/first floor sitting room, walk in wardrobe, bedroom and an en suite bathroom. There are two further bedrooms and a family bathroom.

The property is accessed via a private gated courtyard with high brick wall boundaries providing security and privacy, and turning circle allowing off road parking for multiple cars, and access to the integral double garage. There are beautiful landscaped gardens to the front, side and rear of the property with mature shrubs, plants, trees and lawned areas.

In the rear garden there is a large attractive outbuilding that could serve many uses including workshop, garden store, and potting shed, and also has potential to develop into a garden room, gym or home office.

The Clockhouse offers so much space and flexible accommodation that it could be perfect for multigenerational living.
