What the Owner says:
We were attracted to Dukes Avenue because of the proximity to a huge variety of local shops and amenities. Everything you need is just a few minutes' walk away. When we looked at the house, we could see great potential and set about completely refurbishing it over the last four years. We opened up the house giving it a brighter aspect, taking down an old fireplace in order to turn the area into a lounge and dining room. We also added a new porch, took out old carpets and created a beautiful decal set in the hardwood floor, lastly building the boundary walls and fencing around the property.

The kitchen used to be quite cramped and enclosed, so I took the wall down and installed a breakfast bar along it, which has opened up the room, making it a great place for the family to gather in the mornings.

What I particularly love about living here is that everyone greets you if you are out for a walk. When we were working outside, the neighbours would always stop to say hello.
We are incredibly lucky to have views across the hills in the distance from the bedroom windows especially in winter when they are covered with a dusting of snow.

We would rather stay here but have a growing family and need to find a larger house to suit our needs, but we shall be staying in Theydon as it is a fabulous part of the world.
