Bekesbourne Lane, Littlebourne, Canterbury, Kent CT3

Description
If you have ever dreamed of living in a piece of British history then you may want to consider this amazing Grade II Listed village property. It originally formed part of the 500 year-old Anchor pub in Littlebourne but has been superbly transformed into a stunning four bedroom home, incorporating the ultimate in high end mod cons and fascinating fixtures and fittings, combined with retaining some wonderful period features that give it such a unique character. The front door opens straight into the large lounge/diner that will take your breath away. Whether it is the exposed oak wall and ceiling beams, original oak doors, multi-pane sash windows, the feature archway behind the fireplace that leads from the lounge to the dining area or the angled brick surround fireplace, there is something fascinating to see wherever you look. In addition there is engineered oak flooring throughout most of the ground floor and an interesting dais. While the lounge/diner reflects the character of a bygone era the light and bright kitchen/breakfast room provides the ultimate in 21st century living. It includes an inset Belling range cooker with a tiled splashback and arched brick surround as well as a large central island and a breakfast bar. There are also numerous bespoke grey units lining the walls housing the integrated fridge and freezer.

A rear hallway leads to a downstairs cloakroom and the cellar as well as access to the courtyard style terrace and off street parking for two vehicles. There are also stairs to the first floor where you will find a charming corridor with exposed beams leading to a family shower room and three bedrooms including two doubles and a single. However the ‘piece de resistance' upstairs is the principal suite on the second floor. It includes an amazing bedroom with a vaulted and beamed ceiling, charming views across the village and a fabulous gold coloured stand alone bath with claw feet together with a large dressing room and an adjacent shower room.

Please refer to the footnote regarding the services and appliances.

What the Owner says:
“We purchased the pub to renovate because it had such a wonderful character and was ideally situated in the centre of a village. We have endeavoured to incorporate everything needed to provide a top quality characterful property that is unique and we are very proud of the result.
Littlebourne is a vibrant village with plenty of activities and the house is near the village shop and post office. It is only a short stroll to the recreation ground that includes a children's playground, skateboarding, an outdoor gym and a bmx circuit. It is also home to the Littlebourne cricket club for those who enjoy the summer sound of leather on willow. Buses can take you to the centre of Canterbury in eight minutes and for commuters it is only one and a half miles to Bekesbourne station where it is easy to park. Alternatively you can drive to Canterbury West where the high speed train can whisk you to central London in under an hour.
From an entertainment perspective the house is within walking distance of the Canterbury golf club, the Polo Sports club and the delightful Evenhill pub/restaurant. In the other direction we can be in Wingham with its pubs and restaurants in five minutes and if you want to entertain the youngsters it is only just over half a mile to Howletts Wild Animal Park, while for horsey enthusiasts the nearby Barton Field Farm Equestrian centre is ideal.
