Additional Information - Solar Panels

The vendor informs us that the complete system was installed on the 14th June 2018 and comprises of three interconnected units as follows:

5.04 kW peak performance Solar pv (photovoltaic) System comprising of an array of 16 LG 320 black solar panels, SolarEdge Inverter, Grid connected. LG 10 kW Battery Storage System and Zappi Charging Station.

Total cost of system £14,485, less £500 government grant in respect of ev Charging Station, was fully paid at the time of the installation. There is no ongoing charge of any kind.

The system has worked faultlessly since it was installed and last year it generated 5.21 MWh electricity, of which self-consumption was 3.49 MWh and 1.72 MWh was exported (back to the grid) for which I was paid £363.41. Our total electricity consumption was 5.87MWh but only 2.38 MWh had to be imported from the grid.

I am learning all the time how to make the system even more efficient. For example, I returned from a long trip in my ev yesterday and have now connected it to the Zappi charging station in eco++ mode. This means that over the next day or two, the 90-kW car battery will become fully charges purely from the excess energy created by the solar panels - rather than the excess being sold back the grid.

Although the solar panels seem to be self-cleaning (a heavy shower of rain does the job), I have invested in a special cleaning system, which can clean each of the panels from the deck, and which I have only used on a couple of occasions. I shall be leaving this for the new owner.
