Bruichladdich is located on the Island of Islay, Argyll and Bute in the West of Scotland.

Islay is the southernmost of the inner Hebrides islands, with a population of around 3,228 people.

It is located in the south-west of Scotland and can be accessed by ferry or air.

Ferry crossings are regular from Kennacraig to Port Ellen in the south or Port Askaig on the east of the isle and take about two hours.

Flights from Glasgow take 45 minutes and services are also available from Oban.

Islay Airport is located in Glenegedale to the west of the isle, approximately 30 minutes by car from Bruichladdich.

There local bus routes from Bruichladdich which connect across the island.

The A847 runs to the east of the site and is one of two principal roads on the island.

Port Charlotte Primary School is located 2.6 miles south of the site and Islay High School is located in Bowmore, an 8.2 mile drive to the east of the site.

There is a golf links course to the south east of the island.

The west coast of the island looks onto the Atlantic Ocean from the sandy bays of Sanaigmore, Sligo and Machir providing great opportunities for coastal works.

There is a wealth of history in the area dating back to 8000 bc. Islay is also a popular destination for whisky lovers with an annual Islay Whisky Festival.
