Milford Road, Lymington SO41

Description
Open house- Saturday 26th June 10am-2pm. By Appointment only.

Fine & Country New Forest are delighted to be representing this beautifully presented family home located just under a mile away from the popular Georgian town of Lymington in the New Forest.

Coming to the market for the first time in 21 years, Summercrest is a well-proportioned family
home with 5 double bedrooms, 3 reception rooms, double garage and a spacious front and rear garden, set in approximately a third of an acre.

As you approach the property, it is hard not to be attracted to the beautiful colours of the Wisteria
on the front of the house which flowers twice a year, giving this property real kerb appeal.

At the front of the property there is plenty of space for several vehicles and access to the double garage. Upon entering the property, you are greeted by a spacious reception hall which leads to the first sitting room, kitchen, and dining room.

The kitchen overlooks the rear garden and includes integrated appliances such as a double electric oven, gas hob, extractor, freezer and beautifully hand painted kitchen cabinets. Adjacent to the kitchen is the utility room which has direct access into the garden and a cloakroom.

The second sitting room also benefits from views over the garden and there are double doors to
provide direct access onto the patio and into the garden.

The property has a very comfortable and homely feel, and a particular feature is the parquet
flooring in the dining room which leads on through to the hallway and into the first sitting room.

On the first floor there are 5 double bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom suite is particularly impressive with an abundance of built-in wardrobes and an en-suite bathroom.

Outside in the garden there is plenty of space to socialise and entertain. The westerly facing garden is very private and well screened, featuring mature shrubs and plants around the border. There is a patio area running the width of the house and around the side to provide direct access to the front of the property.

Lymington is set on the coast in the beautiful New Forest National Park, between Southampton and Bournemouth. Famous for its sailing history, there are two large marinas filled with fishing boats and yachts, as well as two sailing clubs. The town’s narrow streets are lined with pretty period cottages and houses, as well as plenty of local pubs and restaurants.

Lymington High Street has several independent shops and designer boutiques, as well as a local
market held each Saturday which dates back to the 13th century. At the bottom of the High Street, a cobbled road leads down to the Old Town Quay, which is still used by a number of commercial fishing boats. There is often a chance to buy fresh fish on the waterfront. From here you can take a stroll along the waters edge and soak up the atmosphere of this renowned sailing resort.

Lymington High Street was also home to Captain Arthur Phillip rn, First Governor of New South
Wales and founder of Sydney when he returned to England from Australia. While in Lymington he
was promoted to Rear Admiral and commanded the Sea Fencibles and the Pressgang Service for
the whole of England.

Lymington is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the New Forest, where opportunities for outdoor activities are abundant. The Solent Way footpath provides a great coastal walk with fantastic views of the Needles and the Isle of Wight. Located to the west of the town is Hurst Castle located on a shingle spit which stretches out into the Solent. This area is a significant coastal nature reserve, recognised as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Located just outside of the town is the Wightlink ferry port, from which a car ferry travels to
Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight.

Lymington is home to 19th century open sea water baths, the oldest of its kind in the UK. These
baths are popular with all ages throughout the summer months, and are an important part of the
town’s history.
