The city centre can be accesses via the towpath or by both roads with frequent bus services. Abingdon Road has excellent local shopping with more extensive facilities in the city centre. There is a large Sainsbury's supermarket on the Heyford Hill roundabout, a short distance.

Directions - coming from the city centre go south on Abingdon Road, turn left onto Weirs Lane / Donnington Bridge Road and turn righ ont o alane shortly before the bridge. Go down the lane and there is vehicular access over the bridge. Please note however that it is 73 inches at the narrow point. If you are unsure of the width of your car please park in Canning Crescent and walk over.
