Description

Rose Cottage is a pretty 17th Century thatched cottage, with later additions. Formerly an Estate cottage on the renowned Breamore Estate, it sits centrally within its picturesque cottage gardens. Entrance is via a thatched porch on the west side of the property, into the sitting room with inglenook fireplace. The adjoining triple-aspect kitchen has bespoke wooden units and dishwasher, fridge, freezer and range cooker. There is a dining area to one end of the kitchen, with a door onto the garden. A study that could, alternatively, be used as a fourth bedroom completes the ground floor, along with a cloakroom/lavatory.

The stairs lead up to a landing, with access to the dual-aspect principal bedroom with fitted cupboards, two further double bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the cottage is nestled in a pretty corner of Outwick, within the village of Breamore. It sits centrally within its gardens and looks out over the surrounding countryside. The secluded and peaceful garden, with boundaries of deep mixed hedging, is laid mainly to lawn. It has well-stocked borders of roses, peonies, irises, lupins and hollyhocks and various mature trees, such as silver birch, magnolia, apple and willow and a vegetable garden. Two small wooden foot bridges take you across the Winterbourne to the tennis court, which usually flows late Winter to early Spring. There is a useful shed to one corner of the garden and a rose-covered gazebo.

Directions

Take the A338 from Salisbury towards Ringwood. After approximately 8 miles, you will enter Breamore. Directly opposite the Hulse Hall, turn right and follow the round around the edge of the Marsh (a manorial green) keeping left. At the t-junction at the top of the road, turn left on to Upper Street; follow this road until you reach a small cross-roads and go straight over. Rose Cottage will be found on the left-hand side.
