Historic reference
It was built between 1795 -1805 by James Fairburn, who was succeeded by his wife Mary.
Eventually being sold and purchased by James August Cory his wife Emma and family
Mr Cory came from Norfolk on his appointment as the Cumberland Architect & Surveyor. He altered the house linking it to what is now Bramerton.

He was succeeded, as the owner my James Wood a railway engineer, who sold the property to master saddler Mr Simpson in 1917 when Bramerton Lodge
