Within the grounds is The Fives Court, unveiled in 1924 is an unusual and poignant memorial to Capt. William Eyre, former student and teacher at the school, who died of wounds in August 1915. The school closed in 2003 and has since been redeveloped and named Burton Drive, in honour of the builder Decimus Burton.
