The Headline Details

This charming four-bedroom semi-detached Victorian property is typical of the period houses in this area of Tunbridge Wells. It has been well-looked after and is beautifully presented throughout with generous accommodation. Set in a popular street in a very central location, this house has great living space and a successful open-plan kitchen/dining area which leads out onto a pretty and private west-facing landscaped rear garden.

The front door of this property is new but very in-keeping with the period style. It opens up into the hallway which sets the tone for the rest of the house with its beautiful décor. Along with a useful under stairs cupboard, it leads to the main reception room which overlooks Princes Street from its lovely bay window and features a wonderful limestone fireplace with fitted shelves and cupboards either side, and nice fitted carpet.

The other side of the hallway leads to the kitchen diner. The current owners have really invested in this property and created a very lovely big open plan space here. The dining area has an original fireplace with built in cupboards to one side. The kitchen has been really well looked after, and is fitted with a good range of cupboards with solid granite worktops and integrated appliances, all of which are staying. The room has a lovely light aspect with windows to the side and a door and window to the rear garden.

The garden of this property is an absolute gem. It has been professionally landscaped and features lovely mature shrubs, camelias, palms and bamboo. There’s a side return to the front of the house and a well-maintained lawn that leads to a useful shed and a lovely, raised area at the back, a perfect seating area for enjoying the afternoon and evening sunshine thanks to the west orientation that sits to one side. There’s a real feeling of seclusion and privacy here and it is a really lovely space.

The first floor of this property features two of the bedrooms and the family bathroom as well as a separate toilet and shower room. The first bedroom is the master bedroom which has been beautifully refurbished with some excellent fitted storage and a space for a television to be wall hung. It is a very comfortable space, a light and bright room with a lovely bay window to the front. The other bedroom on this floor is the smallest of the four and was previously used as a nursery, but now with its lovely aspect to the rear garden and useful storage works perfectly as a home office with its useful storage. The family bathroom sits between the bedrooms, as does the separate toilet. The bathroom has also been recently completely refurbished and has underfloor heating, high quality finishes and fixtures, and a bath with separate shower cubicle.

Two further bedrooms sit on the top floor of this house, one overlooking the front and one the rear, and would be ideal for teenagers or as guest accommodation. Both are generous doubles, with good storage, pretty sash windows and attractive rooflines as well as space for desks.

What We Love About This House

This is a really lovely house. It is beautifully presented and it's clear that the current owners have loved living here since 1998, making alterations and keeping it in a high state of maintenance. We love the mix of period features with contemporary styling.

The rear garden is just wonderful: It’s secluded, beautifully landscaped and well thought out to give a feeling of so much sky and space. There’s no feeling of being overlooked and it gets lots of sunshine with its lovely western aspect to the side.

The location is superb, right in the heart of the town, minutes from the station, the High Street, the Pantiles and the parks of the town. This is a lovely friendly neighbourhood and Princes Street is a really super road.

We do hope that you’ll love it as much as we do. If you'd like to arrange a physical viewing, do give us a call.
