Two of our children were born here, and the house continued to be changed and updated to suit our growing family. We set about adding a large extension to the side and this allowed us to open-up the kitchen entirely, making it the central hub of the home. This was the main reason we extended – we wanted to have somewhere we could all congregate and spend time together.

We also added a garage extension at the end of the garden which has a complete self-contained studio flat above with its own kitchen and bathroom. It's a massive studio flat and has proved to be very useful if we had extra guests to stay and is now being used as a gym.

It's always been a good house for entertaining. When my daughter married, we had family and friends staying over - there was more than enough room to accommodate them all. Children absolutely love the house; I think because there's so much under one roof.
