Description
The Home

Located down a quiet cul de sac tucked away off Shernhall Street is this inviting end of terrace home. With a beautifully appointed south facing garden, side access, and two dedicated parking spaces, you will feel like you've hit the jackpot, especially if moving here from central London! Locals will also appreciate how rare it is to find all of these in one home. In addition to three generous double bedrooms, the house and garden offer ample integrated and bespoke storage options. On the ground floor there is a sunny open plan living / dining room that leads to your outdoor dining space with lots of room for BBQs and family time. You can even pick and eat pears from your mature fruit tree growing alongside your garden room. The living area itself is overlooked by a recently fitted shaker kitchen with wooden worktops and subway tiles. There's a downstairs WC and cleverly positioned upstairs utility space, making life easy and ergonomic.

The Neighbourhood

Walthamstow Village Borders has a wonderful community spirit. Designated a Conservation Area in 1967, it is one of the oldest and most charming neighbourhoods in London, with a wealth of walks and historic landmarks. The Village is centred around Orford Road, a lovely pedestrianised street with lots of independent shops and restaurants with outdoor dining. Renowned for its foodie destinations like Eat 17, The Kitchen, Orford Saloon, and Froth & Rind, the area comes alive on a sunny day.

If you're after a laid-back East London vibe, explore the breweries and gin palace of Ravenswood Industrial Estate where you'll discover an eclectic mix of indoor / outdoor drinking venues. The relocation here of neon artist Chris Bracey’s massive collection of work, Gods Own Junkyard, has increased the area’s standing as a centre for art and culture.

On a Sunday afternoon, stroll to the William Morris Gallery, situated in the Grade II listed home of this radical Victorian designer, now devoted to exhibiting his life and work as well as ground-breaking contemporary artists like Grayson Perry. Here, people of all ages take part in a variety of workshops and masterclasses exploring ‘Morris’s design processes and the ideas that informed them’.

The Area

London Overground is a 5-minute walk away, with Wood Street Station taking you to Hackney Central in 10 minutes and Liverpool Street in 20. You can also hop onto the Victoria line at Walthamstow Central, which is 2 minutes on the train from Wood Street or a 12-minute stroll through the Village. From there, you'll reach Highbury & Islington in 13 minutes, King's Cross in 15, and Oxford Circus in less than 20.

Known as London’s Borough of Culture, Waltham Forest maintains its reputation as a place that values community spirit, music and the arts. From street parties and garden parties to music festivals, Walthamstow is bursting with cultural activities. And with Epping Forest on your doorstep you can even explore ancient woodlands and enjoy boating and picnicking at Hollow Ponds.

If you are looking for a choice of outstanding schools, you’ve come to the right place. Check out St Mary’s, Woodside and Walthamstow Girls. Likewise, Henry Maynard is a place where kids get to express themselves as individuals, with an emphasis on art, the environment and music. Leytonstone School, housed in a beautiful Victorian building, is much loved by local residents.

If this sounds like a place you'd enjoy living in, book a guided tour of the property on our Viewings Day - Saturday, 14th August. We look forward to seeing you there!

Notes from the Owners:

We have adored living at Burns Close. We started our family here and while it is sad to say goodbye to such a wonderful home we are so happy to pass on the mantle to new loving owners. The house is light filled but cosy. The garden gets sun nearly all day long. The close is quiet and safe. Our children love playing outside and our neighbours are the best; so helpful, friendly and always on hand if needed. It's a brilliant location, as well. The best new Walthamstow restaurant Arte e Pasta is literally 30 seconds walk from our front door. God's Own Junkyard and the breweries are just over the road and we're about 5 minutes walk to Wood Street or 12 minutes to Walthamstow Central. Epping Forest is an easy walk away, too. We love Walthamstow and this home, and we know it will make someone else fall in love too!
