"Our Vendor Says" My parents bought Knollys Road in 1966 and it has been a very happy family home for all of us.

My Mum loved gardening and has spent decades getting it to its current lush, idyllic state. As a child I used to study the frogs and great crested newts in the pond. Our cat, Marcus, was a complete softie. He wouldn't hurt a fly, but he used to carefully catch the great crested newts, totally unharmed, and bring them to us as "presents". We quickly realised that making five trips per night to return the newts to the pond was not sensible so we had a special box with breathing holes in the downstairs bathroom and we'd store them there and my Dad would take them back to the pond before bed every night.

We have many happy memories as children, teenagers and adults at the house. We hosted many parties over the decades. I remember my sister's 18th birthday party when one lad was a bit squiffy and he discovered a box full of newts in the bathroom. He came out, ashen faced, saying we had baby dragons in the bathroom.

My parents were famous for their Election Night parties in the 70's, 80's and 90's. I remember having to carefully step over sleeping party goers and half empty glasses of wine to get my bag ready for school on the Friday morning after the night before.

My Dad was a consultant psychiatrist at the Maudsley Hospital so Knollys Road was very handy for work, and my Mum was a peripatetic teacher of the deaf travelling around South London. Dad also saw private patients in the evenings from his study, which is such a calm, peaceful room.

All the neighbours are lovely - Paul and Sharon at no 23 and Anna, Hazel and their two sons at no 27. They have helped Mum so much over the years since Dad sadly passed away.

My Mum and Dad designed the extension with an architect in the 70s. My dad's wine cellar is under the spiral staircase, but Mum hasn't wanted it to be opened after his death in 2007.

My bedroom as a teenager was downstairs. It is a lovely room, very cool in the summer months, but toasty in the winter and you can watch the snow falling as you lie in bed. It also has a very handy side door so I could sneak in and out in the early hours of the morning.

We have so many happy memories of 25 Knollys Road and we really want it to be passed on to lovely people who will care for it and look after it as my parents did.
