Three bedroom character cottage for sale in woodford halse Situated in the heart of a lovely Northamptonshire Village this stone built cottage is full of character charm but with all the modern conveniences you need for a comfortable life. This property is in fabulous condition, having been lovingly cared for and updated by the current owners, so you can move straight in and start your new life in the country!

Dating from the 18th Century, March Cottage is located in the older part of the village of Woodford Halse on the very pretty Parsons Street, which has plenty of character properties along it's length, and March Cottage itself sits on the bend in the lane and being double fronted and with blue painted woodwork, it is quite the focal point of that end of the street.

Ground floor accommodation As soon as you enter the cottage the retained character features like the original stripped-pine doors and waxed original floorboards in both the reception rooms, give a sense of warmth and cosy-ness.

On one side of the entrance hall is a very cosy snug, which has previously been used as a dining room, the current owners have installed a wood-burner so it's a great place to hunker down on a cold winter's night. On the other side of the hall there is a great sized lounge with a beautiful Victorian Cast Iron open Fireplace and is a very inviting place to sit and relax.

From the lounge you enter the later extension and the fabulous kitchen with the vaulted ceiling and skylights letting in plenty of natural light. There is underfloor heating below the travertine tile flooring, keeping your tootsies warm whilst you cook breakfast on the large range cooker. There is plenty of storage in the kitchen, including a built in wine fridge, but oh joy-of-joys, there is a walk-in pantry as well!

Also on the ground floor there is a downstairs WC, and a generous utility room, again there is underfloor heating here, because this is where you can also unwind and relax in the jacuzzi bath!

What's upstairs? There are two very good sized double bedrooms to the front of the property, one has a generous integrated storage cupboard over the stairs and both of them have original cast-iron fireplaces.

At the rear of the property there is a smaller bedroom, currently being used as a study, this room also has an original fireplace.

The current owners have installed a luxurious wet room, with spa-like stone effect tiling and contemporary vanity unit and sink. There is also a separate WC on the first floor, with hand- wash basin and tiling matching the wet room.

Outside space The stable-door (every cottage should have one!) from the kitchen leads to the rear garden. This is a lovely relaxing space, and being paved throughout is very low maintenance.
Immediately outside the kitchen there is a generous patio area, with room for table and chairs as well as hot tub, like the current owners have. This is partially covered with a glazed wooden arbour, so a little summer rain shower won't make your salad soggy.

Beyond the patio the rest of the garden is raised, there is a further sunbathing/relaxing area, a greenhouse at the end of the garden and gated access to the lane that leads to the village High Street and shops.

The garden has maturely planted borders and is surround by six foot high timber fencing and so it feels very private.

Little extras There are a number of little extras that are worth mentioning. The current owners have installed good quality wooden double glazing in-keeping with the character of the cottage and all the windows to the front aspect have built-in plantation blinds, affording extra privacy. The remaining windows are UPVC double glazed.

There is a water softener installed, as this is a hard water area, so your appliances will last a little longer.

Don't forget that there is underfloor heating in both the kitchen and the utility room.

Oh, and did I mention the built-in wine fridge!

Village life Woodford Halse lies approx. 15 minutes drive south of Daventry, and approx. 20 minutes north of Banbury, and both have good shopping facilities and other amenities. Northampton train station is approx. 30 minutes away for direct connections to London Euston.

Woodford Halse has a number of shops and take-away restaurants on the high street, a large Co-op supermarket, a primary school and the Fleur-de-Lys Public House. The village is surrounded by countryside and woodland, so there are a variety of walking routes. There is even a Alpaca Trekking facility!
