Location
Trenchard Square is in a quiet residential area of the RAF base of Scampton, with properties being sold off to private individuals a number of years ago. It is within very easy reach of the A15, about 5 miles (10 minutes’ drive) directly north of the city of Lincoln with its cathedral, castle and quaint Bailgate area where charming markets, independent shops, restaurants and cafes nestle on the hill.
Newark-on-Trent with its castle on the river, is about 20 miles (approx. 30 mins) southwest with Nottingham further beyond (about an hours’ drive). The Lincolnshire Wolds, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its rolling hills, is beyond Market Rasen (13 miles) less than a half hour drive to the northeast. The A1 Northbound can be picked up at Markham Moor about 20 miles (30 mins) to the west, or at Newark, the same distance, if Southbound. The M180 crosses the north of the county about 18 miles (20 mins) up the A15.

The schools in the close vicinity are excellent. Polly Platt Primary School, about a 5-minute walk, is rated Good by Ofsted, and the mixed state secondary school, William Farr, is in the neighbouring village of Welton only a 5-minute drive (3 miles) and is Ofsted-rated Outstanding. For private education, the superb Minster Schools in Lincoln are about 10 minutes by car (5 miles).<br /><br />
