House For Sale £900,000
Alma Grove, London SE1

Description
This handsome three-bedroom Victorian house lies on Alma Grove, within the Thorburn Square conservation area in Bermondsey. The house has been subject to a wonderful renovation in recent months, in which the current owners have carefully preserved the home’s period features while introducing fun pops of colour and thoughtful contemporary interventions. At the rear of the house is a west-facing garden, stretching to 60ft in length and home to an abundance of plants.

The Tour

The house is set back from the road behind cast-iron railings that enclose a front patio. The ground floor entrance opens to a central corridor, which leads the way to a spacious open-plan living and dining area. The current owners have sensitively preserved and restored the period features here, including the sliding shutter on the arched sash window at the front of the plan. There are whitewashed walls and sanded original floorboards run underfoot.

The living areas seamlessly flow into the contemporary kitchen, where cabinets have been painted an earthy red and colourful terrazzo extends underfoot. Natural light pours in through the box window that faces the garden pathway beyond. Leading on from the kitchen is a sizeable family bathroom, recently fitted by the current owners with a brand-new bathroom suite and underfloor heating. The large sunny garden can be accessed via a back door that opens from the kitchen.

Three beautifully bright, sizeable bedrooms lie upstairs. The main bedroom is positioned at the front of the plan and has two double sash windows that overlook the quiet, leafy Alma Grove beyond. The second and third bedrooms each have a sash window and glorious views over the garden at the rear.

Outdoor Space

The wonderfully quiet and secluded garden is home to several mature trees and beautifully planted borders. There is a shed for storage and a large, impeccably manicured lawn at the centre.
