Description

The Old House is a charming Grade II Listed Cotswold stone end terrace property, conveniently located on the main street in the centre of Painswick. The spacious and light filled property is full of character and was subject to a complete renovation by the current vendor, just over 10 years ago. Prior to this, the property had been in the same ownership for over 50 years. With tall ceilings and lots of windows, the property benefits from lovely character features including period stone fireplaces. On the ground floor there is a front facing sitting room and a dining room/snug and kitchen/breakfast room to the rear of the property. There are two bedrooms and a good sized bathroom on the first floor and a spacious top floor master bedroom with extensive built-in cupboards and lovely old beams. There is also a good sized full height cellar. Leading from the kitchen, there is a pretty garden to the rear of the house. There is parking for one car.

Directions

The property is located two minutes walk from our Painswick office. Head along the A46 in the direction of Cheltenham and the Old House is the second property on the right, on the same side of the road as our Painswick office.

Location

Painswick is one of the most famous villages in the Cotswolds with its wealth of old buildings and glorious surroundings - an official area of outstanding natural beauty. Much loved by its residents, Painswick is a welcoming, thriving community with good amenities, almost all of which are on the doorstep of the Old House. There is a general store, two pubs and several places to eat out, as well as a spectacular church and an 18 hole golf course nearby. Immediately to the north is the Regency Spa town of Cheltenham with excellent shopping and annual Literature, Music and Science Festivals as well as the famous National Hunt racecourse. The market town of Stroud is less than 10 minutes in the opposite direction with a Waitrose superstore and three other major supermarkets plus an award winning Saturday Farmers Market. There are regular train services from Stroud mainline station, circa 90 minutes into London Paddington and the capital is under 2 hours by road. The adjacent countryside is a marvellous source of walks, with the Cotswold Way passing nearby and the country lanes popular with cyclists.
