Maesllwch Castle is a large C19th castellated mansion designed by the architect Robert Lugar. The main part of the house was built between 1829 and 1839 with the service wing built in 1872.

Central heating & hot water

The hot water and heating is provided by a renewable wood chip boiler via a heat main. The hot water and heating supplied to the property is metered and prospective tenants will be charged for what they use at a rate of 6.34p/kWh. For ease of administration the rent will include an extra £70-£85 pcm charge for the property's hot water and heating useage. This will be initially reviewed after 3 to 6 months and thereafter every 12 months, at the end of the tenancy or otherwise by agreement. At each review the amount of hot water and heat used will be checked by taking meter readings and the tenant will be reimbursed (if they have paid too much) or charged extra (if they have paid too little).

The heating controls for the property are located in the cupboard inside the front door and there is a room thermostat on the hall wall opposite the bedrooms. The hot water tank and meters are located in the Plant Room adjacent to the Tower garage.

Finding the property

Entering Glasbury on the B4350 from Hay-on-Wye or on the A438 from Brecon, cross over the river Wye on the A438 heading towards Llowes and Clyro. As you drive out of Glasbury you will pass a farm on your left. After the farm take the next turning on the left signposted to Maesyronnen Chapel. After 0.2 miles take the next turning on the left into the Maesllwch Castle front drive. Follow the drive for approximately 0.4 miles until you reach on the left the entrance to the courtyard bounded on both sides by a stone wall. Turn into this courtyard and No 1 The Coach House is the middle property on your left.
