House For Sale £182,000
King Street, Middleton, Matlock DE4

Description
With awesome views of the lush wooded hills up to Middleton Moor, this 3 bedroom semi-detached home is located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in the heart of the village.

Inside, the owners have created a stylish home and there are gardens to the front and rear. We love Middleton anyway because of the friendly people, fantastic walks and great facilities, but the views from this home in particular are a real selling point. It's a great first time buy or perfect for a growing family.

On the ground floor is a spacious lounge and modern breakfast kitchen, with a downstairs WC too. On the first floor are three good-sized bedrooms and the family bathroom. The gardens are both lawned and there is a fairly substantial shed, plus plenty of south-facing patio, perfect for outdoor dining whilst marveling at those views.

Middleton itself is situated a mile north-west of the popular town of Wirksworth (The Gem of the Peak). Famous for it's historic mining and quarrying, Middleton now has a thriving community with two good pubs, a much-used village hall (think film nights, live music, clubs and talks), primary school and the High Peak Trail running by the village along the path of a former railway. Cycle hire and the still-operational engine house at Middleton Top draw visitors from near and far.

The home is within Council Tax band B.

Front Of House

Looking down over the attractive brick-built house from the street, you enter the front garden through a cute timber gate and down five steps. From here, the path leads to the front door and also in front of the lounge and round to the gate to the rear garden.

The front garden is bounded by a banked local stone wall at the front and timber picket fence. The small lawn is bordered by a range of plants.

Entrance Hall

Entering the home through a uPVC part-glazed front door, you alight into the entrance hall. This space is carpeted with a 'waffle' carpet and has a radiator, ceiling light fitting, stairs ahead up to the first floor and a door on your left into the lounge.

Sitting Room (3.81 x 3.8 (12'5" x 12'5"))

Roomy, spacious and bright, the well-proportioned lounge has light pouring in through the modern north-facing double-glazed window on the left. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the beautiful fireplace. A gas coal-effect fire is set within a black granite surround and hearth, itself bounded by a solid timber mantelpiece. What is really useful and quite unusual are the multitude of small built-in cupboards. The room has a lovely waffle carpet, radiator and ceiling light fitting. The Worcester combination boiler is housed in the under-stairs cupboard.

Dining Kitchen (5.35 x 2.2 (17'6" x 7'2"))

Admittedly it was a sunny day, but our first thought on entering the kitchen was "Wow"! The super-wide double-glazed window was bathing the room in bright sunshine, really showing off the modern, light cherry wood cabinets with chrome handles. It helps that the kitchen is south-facing and there are no buildings on any side to block out the views and sunshine coming from the south.

There are loads (technical term!) of high- and low-level kitchen cabinets including integrated dishwasher, a built-in wine rack and plenty of worktop space atop. An integrated Ignis stainless steel oven, four-ring gas hob and stainless steel extractor fan sits proudly at the end of this u-shaped kitchen area. Beneath the aforementioned window is a stainless steel 1.5 sink with drainer and chrome mixer tap. It's the perfect spot for gazing out over the garden and rooftops to the hillside and countryside beyond.

The current owners have used the open half of the room to place a breakfast bar, which still leaves plenty of space for their double American fridge-freezer and under-counter washing machine. You can see that there is still space remaining for a small dining table if desired. The room has a modern vinyl floor, radiator, ceiling spotlights and doors to the WC and the rear garden.

Downstairs Wc

This useful room has a ceramic WC, frosted double-glazed window, linoleum floor and ceiling spotlight.

Stairs To First Floor Landing

The waffle carpet continues up the stairs, which has a handrail and double-glazed window as it reaches the upstairs landing. There is a loft hatch, ceiling light fitting and doors to the family bathroom and three bedrooms. The loft is part-boarded and has a pull-down ladder.

Family Bathroom (2.8 x 1.75 (9'2" x 5'8"))

Very seasidey! That's what came into our minds as we entered this room. The dark vinyl floor contrasts nicely with the white three-piece-suite of bath (with shower over), pedestal sink and WC. The sink sits atop a wooden coastal-style cabinet. There are white ceramic tiles with a row of feature mosaic tiles surrounding the bath, with a shower curtain and rail too. Two mirrored wall cabinets, vertical heated towel rail, frosted double-glazed window, extractor fan and ceiling spotlights complete this room.

Bedroom One (3.15 x 2.8 (10'4" x 9'2"))

A large double bedroom, this also has the benefit of a full-height and almost full-width fitted wardrobe. The north-facing double-glazed window floods light in and, like all the upstairs rooms, the ceiling seems particularly high. There is a radiator, ceiling light fitting and the room is carpeted.

Bedroom Two/Home Office (3.25 x 2.5 (10'7" x 8'2"))

Currently set up as a home office and therefore showcasing how this room can be used, we think you'd struggle to work here with those views! They are simply stunning and so distracting! Something we thought noting is that this room is slightly larger than bedroom three and so you might wish to have that as a home office... This room is carpeted and has a radiator and ceiling light fitting.

Bedroom Three (2.75 x 2.2 (9'0" x 7'2"))

Also benefiting from those spectacular views over the rooftops towards the verdant hillside up to Middleton Moor, this cosy double bedroom has a radiator and ceiling light fitting. Like all of the bedrooms, it is neutrally decorated and that enhances the bright feel because of the crisp double-glazed windows pouring light into each room.

Rear Garden

Accessed via the gate from the front garden or from the kitchen door, this is a south-facing garden. The entrance area is paved and there is space enough on one side for a large outdoor storage unit. Around the corner where the garden opens out to a well-proportioned rectangle, the paved patio area is easily large enough for an outdoor dining set for 4 or 6 people. The lawn is easily manageable and has sunken paving steps to the pretty little slate seating area at the bottom of the garden, next to a large shed. Border plants add a splash of colour. New high timber fences border the two long sides of the garden and a lower level fence forms the boundary at the bottom.
